Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
