Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.
Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the pair.
A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt able to share openly about his profound loss.
"Enough time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the movie, adding that he doesn't recollect "one day without mirth".
"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes wrote.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist
In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A legal directive placed a security hold on the files to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of foul play, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
