The former president's Family Member Receives Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Before LPGA Debut
The rising star boasts substantial social media audience
Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known backers as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates multiple golf courses and frequently matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa basically told me to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in just three tournaments this year and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He told me to play, have fun, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge several top competitors in the sport at the Annika, including world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly among younger fans.
The young star has a massive following and recently launched an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
