Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
